Chicago Bears Trade Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins

Updated: Mar 13

Senior NFL Analyst at the Athletic, Dianna Russini reports that Chase Claypool is being traded to the Miami Dolphins. It is a crisp autumn morning in the Chicagoland. I sit here with the windows open, waiting for my next Parent Teacher Conference to start, (you are welcome future business leaders of America). When suddenly, I get a notification from Twitter(X?). The Chicago Bears are getting a 2025 6th for Claypool and are sending a 2027 7th round pick with Chase to get the deal done. I'd like to be the first to wish Chase much success in all his future endeavors.

One may see the Chase news and say, but Shawn, they just traded the 32nd overall pick for Claypool less than a calendar year ago. And you would be right in that statement, but it doesn’t matter because the Chicago Bears are fucking BACK! As I predicted Last year Denniston Oliver Moore Jr. has absolutely changed the dynamic of the Chicago Bears offense. As we sit today, Justin Fields leads the league in Touchdowns thrown and D.J. Moore is just 13 yards behind Justin Jefferson for league leader in receiving yards. DJ Moore also has 5 receiving touchdowns to go with his 531 receiving yards.

I am not one to take victory laps, but how on point was that prediction? The Bears are free to play loose the rest of the season knowing that the 1.01 is already locked up for next season. Chicago is in a very similar position to Detroit last year when they had the Rams first round pick. Like the Lions, Bears fans were not sure if we should tank, if our QB is the future, what should we do about the defense, offensive line, etc. etc. But it doesn’t matter, because those Dorks over in Carolina traded us the 1.01 for next year and decided to take Bryce Young who’s having a historically bad rookie season through 4 weeks. I don't know what any of these numbers in the graph below mean, but being compared to Zach Wilson CANNOT be a good thing.

Local Panthers fan Loukas Varvarezos was quoted recently claiming, “I’m starting to think the panthers are poverty.” Not just a poverty franchise, the definition of poverty. Yikes, good thing we don’t cheer for a team like that in Chicago.

Bears are in a Great spot. If we suck? We get two high picks. If we are somehow good this season, and make a run like the Lions last season, we still have the 1.01. Then, Ryan Poles will be tasked with a decision. Trade the rights to draft Caleb Williams for the haul of all hauls and build the future around Justin Fields? Or Trade Fields for multiple first round picks and draft a generational talent at quarterback. There is no losing for the Bears and the vibes are high. Good riddance Chase Claypool, The Bears are fucking BACK!

But hey, I could be wrong.
