Objectively Speaking, Amari Cooper is the best receiver in the National Football League

The people have been clamoring. Will Shawn write his first blog about fishing? Hunting? Cooking? I mean jeez, he hasn't shut up about cooking since the beginning of the pandemic. Nope, Amari Cooper is flooding the twitter sphere with rookie swag advice and ankle breaking routes, I had to go back to my first true love. It was a sunny Thursday morning in September, I woke up and smelled football in the air. As I ate my Honey Nut Cheerios and scrolled twitter, I saw a clip of a grizzled vet giving his youngins some advice on the football field. That grizzled vet was none other than our lord and savior Amari Cooper. If you follow Amari on Insta, you already know, the guy has drip. Mr. Cooper's swag itself is worth at least 350 yards and 2 TD’s. He took it upon himself to share the saucieness with some rooks when he showed up to training camp. You can see in the clip below, Coop taking some young players under his fashion savvy wing. That sort of Veteran leadership is worth at least 400 yards and 3 TD’s.

Coop is quoted saying, “If you got ample ice, you can wear any shirt.” You CANNOT teach this sort of veteran leadership. He doesn’t want his rookies to run out and spend a bunch of money on shirts and pants they will only wear a few times. That is something they don’t teach you in high school (trust me, I know these things). And that sort of personal finance advice is worth a cool 125 yards and a touchdown.

Just when you start to worry that you're only going to get a projected 875 yards and 6 TD’s from your WR1, a clip from camp surfaces of Amari stealing some ankles.

As you can see above, Amari breaks rookie teammate Kelvin Joseph’s ankles so hard the camera loses him for a minute, welcome to the league rook. The clip itself is worth at least 300 yards and 2 TD’s on the season, but then we dig a little deeper we realize Johnson is no slouch at the cornerback position. The 6 foot 200 pound product of Kentucky brings a 90th percentile speed score and runs a 4.40 forty. He used these intangibles to lock down receivers at the collegiate level. Joseph's mantra of being a lockdown corner in college adds about 125 yards and a TD to Amari’s projection. I’ll also add a bonus 75 yards for showing the young defensive backs what they should expect on Sundays. That leadership does not grow on trees.

With some quick math you will find that the floor for Amari this season is 1375 yards and 9TD. Now don’t get me wrong, I love CeeDee Lamb, the guys got spunk. But the silliness in drafting him above the clear WR1 in Dallas is just outrageous. So this weekend when you're drafting, don’t forget to snag Amari in the 4th and mock whoever takes CeeDee in front of you. Because, if you draft Amari Cooper at that value, you will be laughing your way all the way to the bank and a fantasy championship. But… as always, don’t forget… I could be wrong.
